Respectful Workplace Training: Building Skills for Every Employee

Our Respectful Workplace Training provides your team with the shared language, practical skills, and strategies needed to build and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive work environment.

Leaders often call us hoping to train their way out of conflict: roll out a workshop, teach a framework, and expect the friction to disappear. It doesn't work that way. Handed a new set of communication tools without the right conditions around them, employees can just as easily use them against each other as with each other. Respectful Workplace Training is built to avoid that trap: a shared standard of behaviour, reinforced with real follow-through, not a one-off fix for conflict that's already active.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This training is designed for all members of an organization, from employees to senior leadership. We help equip everyone in the workplace to take personal responsibility for their behaviour and to communicate respectfully.

Every organization has rules, but how do you move beyond policies to build a truly safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture?

Unwanted behaviours arise in every workplace, and the key is to support employees to respond helpfully while increasing productivity, engagement, and personal commitment.

Our Respectful Workplace Training is designed to translate your organizational values into individual responsibility for day-to-day behaviour. This interactive program equips your team with a shared language and a practical framework to consistently respond to unhelpful situations. The training is delivered in two key modules:

Module 1: Creating a Respectful Workplace This module focuses on personal responsibility, giving participants an opportunity to talk explicitly about expectations of the workplace and each other. After participating in group and individual activities, participants will be able to define the 3 ingredients of a Respectful Workplace, identify relevant workplace policies, and apply three strategies for responding to disrespectful behaviour.

Module 2: Building Stronger Communication Most employees avoid difficult conversations or pass the problem off to the manager, so dealing with it well does not come easily or naturally. This module builds participants' confidence and skills in having difficult conversations by applying our STRAIGHT TALK® conversation framework. Through exercises and roleplaying, your employees will learn to handle challenging responses, receive feedback respectfully, and recognize when to get help from within your organization

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from De-escalation Training?

Respectful Workplace Training builds a baseline of shared expectations and communication skills for every employee, delivered proactively across the organization. De-escalation Training is more targeted: it equips staff, often frontline workers, to assess and respond to threatening situations in the moment. Many organizations run both.

Who should attend, just managers or everyone?

Everyone, from frontline employees to senior leadership. The training is built around personal responsibility for behaviour at every level, not a management-only framework handed down to staff.

Is this compliance training, or something more substantive?

t's built to go beyond a policy read-through. Rules alone can't catch everything that damages a workplace, some of the most corrosive behaviours never actually break a policy, they just erode trust over time. Participants leave with a practical framework, STRAIGHT TALK®, for naming and addressing that kind of behaviour directly, not just the conduct a rulebook already prohibits.

How long is the training?

The program runs across two modules and can be scheduled to fit your organization's calendar.

If you're ready to move beyond policy documents to a shared, practical standard for respectful behaviour, book a call.

Respect isn't a policy. It's a behaviour.
